Coming together as a team, let's take a moment to pause (10 secs), and let's begin with a quote from...
Psalm 140:12- "I know that the LORD secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy."
And from
Pope Francis- "The private ownership of goods is justified by the need to protect and increase them, so that they can better serve the common good; for this reason, solidarity must be lived as the decision to restore to the poor what belongs to them."
These quotes show the value of Accessibility. Accessibility is a great way to live Stewardship, making it real in our lives today! So, as we reflect today, let's refresh our memories on the meaning of Stewardship, and take a closer look at how Accessibility brings it to life.
Stewardship
Stewardship means, Wise and just use of talents and resources in a collaborative manner.
We know there are many ways to live Stewardship; so let's focus on just one, Accessibility.
Accessible
Provide care that is equitable, convenient, affordable, and delivered in the appropriate setting.
So, let's ask ourselves this question...
Am I mindful of minimizing waste to ensure resources are available for those in need? Pause 20 sec before moving on.
I'd like to invite us all to make Accessibility a reality in our lives today by...
Utilizing only the necessary resources to achieve quality results.
Accessibility isn't new to CHRISTUS Health, in fact, we see this same type of Compassion in our heritage...
Did you know that Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian were twin brothers who were physicians, known for their compassion and their willingness to care for the poor and underserved? They often provided their services free of charge. The brothers were so careful with their resources that they never had to turn away someone in need.
